2025 Information

Before the day

  • Set yourself up to carry 2 waterbottles on the day. If you don't think this will be enough for you, organise someone to give you a bottle at some stage of the event.
  • Carry some food/gels
  • Carry a spare, gas and tools in case you puncture
  • There wiil be a support vehicle but it may take some time for them to get to you so be prepared to carry out your own repairs
  • Familiarise yourself with the course by following the runsheet below
  • Download the course and load it into your bike computer
  • Donations to the Pajama Foundation are optional however, entries for the prizes (and there are some good ones) are based on money raised. Every $50 is one entry.
  • Jerseys ordered (prior to the cut off) will be available on the day or at Trek Kawanna from Monday 17th November

  • 4.00 am Registration at Wanderers Football Club Ballinger Road Buderim. Number allocation will be random
  • Numbers are to be placed middle lower back.
  • 4.45 am Ride Briefing
  • 5.00 am ride starts at Wanderers
  • Turn right as you exit Wanderers
  • Turn left at the roundabout at the bottom of Dixon Road
  • Hill 1 - Climb Dixon Road
  • Turn left into Mooloolaba Rd, at King St and turn left at roundabout into Ballinger Rd and descend Ballinger Rd, turn left at roundabout into Ballinger Rd, turn left into Cogill Rd and climb
  • Hill 2 - Climb Cogill Road
  • Turn left into King St through roundabout to Burnett St then turn left into Crosby Hill Rd and
  • descend Crosby Hill Road, turn left into Walgarri Drive, through bikepath at cul de sac into Jorl Ct, turn left into Stringybark Rd, then left at roundabout into Ballinger Rd and climb
  • Hill 3 - Climb Ballinger Road
  • Turn left into Burnett St, turn right into William St and descend Glenmount Rd, turn left into Tanawha Tourist Drive, turn left into Crosby Hill Rd and climb
  • Hill 4 - Crosby Hill Road
  • Turn left into William St, turn right into Mons Rd and descend Mons Road, turn left into Tanawha Tourist Drive, turn left into Glenmount Rd and climb
  • Hill 5 - Glenmount Road
  • Into William St, turn left into Mons Rd descend Mons Road, do a U turn at the Roundabout at the bottom of Mons and climb
  • Hill 6 - Mons Road
  • Continue along Burnet St through Roundabout and turn left into Gloucester Rd,
  • Descend Jones Rd and slow down to turn sharp left into Lindsay Rd and climb
  • Hill 7 - Lindsay Road
  • Turn left into King St and follow main road to Descend Mooloolaba Rd Turn left into Deloraine Drive then straight through the roundabout,
  • turn left at the next roundabout into Cumberland Way, at the end of Cumberland Way follow the bike path for 50 metres and turn left into Wises Rd, turn left at lights onto Wises Rd
  • turn left into Pittards Rd, then turn left at lights to climb
  • Hill 8 - Jones Road
  • Turn left into Mill Rd at lights, turn left into Mooloolaba Rd. Turn right into Dixon Rd and
  • Descend Dixon Rd, Turn left into Karawatha Dr, turn left into Golf Links Drive, turn left into Mooloolaba Rd at lights and climb
  • Hill 9 - Moooolaba Road
  • Turn left into Dixon Rd and descend Dixon Rd, turn right at the roundabout onto Ballinger Road, turn left into Wanderers Football Club, finish under the arch.
  • All riders must be at the Wanderers football club by 8.00 am even if you don't complete the course
  • Presentations and Random Draws start at 8.30am
  • Please leave the grounds clean and tidy

Riders briefing

  1. It is a very challenging Charity Ride, not a race
  2. The Buderim 9 is organised and manned by Volunteers.
  3. All Queensland Road Rules apply
  4. There will be vehicles on the road
  5. There will be 2 motorbike police patrolling the course
  6. There will be 3 first aid vehicles patrolling the course
  7. The marshalls are there to direct you and warn you, they cannot stop traffic
  8. When riding with others look after each other. Call obstacles, "car up", "car back"
  9. You have a duty of care to other riders in the ride
  10. Do not throw anything away during the ride.
  11. If you pull out, you must let officials know. We need to account for every rider that starts
  12. The ride concludes at 8.00am. It is a 3 hour event. Its all our permit allows
  13. At 7.30am, you will probabily not have enough time to complete another hill. Return to the finish at Wanderers!
  14. There will be a 2 follow/support vehicles on the course as well as a tent with some spares at the top of William St/Mons Road
  15. All riders must sign out at the end. Here you will be able to record the number of hills you completed and and the time you took.
  16. The time we record will be the time we first saw you at the finish, not your ride time!
  17. If you want an exact time - record it on STRAVA or similar
  18. Be aware of cars on the course and call them through when it is safe
  19. Don't follow the rider in front of you as they may be on a different hill
  20. The Jones Road turn into Lindsay Road is the most dangerous on the course. Slow down!
  21. If the road is wet give yourself more time to brake and avoid painted surfaces
  22. In case of rain we may call off the event
  23. Descending Mons. - You descend Mons Road twice, the first time you turn left at the roundabout, the second time you do a u turn at the roundabout
  24. Descending Dixon. - You descend Dixon twice. The first time you turn left at the roundabout the second time you turn right at the roundabout and come back to the finish
  25. The ride will commence at 5.00am
